Cueball

bald-head

Growing tired of the summer heat, I decided to be done with it, and shaved my head. It works: the ambient temperature “feels” a great deal cooler.

Naturally, this being Calgary, it then had to snow the next day.

Aside from the anatomical fascination of feeling one’s own skull, there is an interesting evolution to hair growth, which goes something like this:

Day 1
Baby smooth. “Sixth sense” developed through feeling the slightest breeze at the back of your head.
Day 2 – 4
Velcro head. Clothing tugs and grips at your head as you pull it on and off.
Day 5 – 8
Fuzzy peach
Day 9 – 13
Black halo
Day 14
Shave. The cycle repeats.
